Construction Site Inspection

A Step-by-Step Inspection

During the construction of your new home, your building inspector will carry out a rigorous follow-up to ensure that all work complies with Building Code standards. This follow-up enables us to supervise the progress of the worksite, from excavation to final delivery of your new home.

Key Stages in Site Supervision

To guarantee the conformity and quality of the work, four essential inspections are carried out during the construction process:

Foundations and structure
The first visit verifies the condition of the foundations and the installation of the building's framework, ensuring a solid, standard-compliant foundation.

Mechanical systems
This inspection validates the installation of essential mechanical systems, including plumbing, electricity and heating. It is carried out after the shell has been installed, but before the walls have been insulated.

Insulation
The inspector ensures that the insulation system is installed correctly and in compliance with current standards. This step is crucial, as it precedes the installation of interior finishes.

Interior and exterior finishing
A final inspection is carried out to verify the quality of the finishes, both inside and outside the building, before official delivery.

Correction of deficiencies

If any deficiencies are identified during the various inspections, additional visits may be necessary to ensure that the recommended corrective measures are applied.

A Worthwhile Investment

Rigorous site supervision requires close collaboration between the inspector, the contractor and you, particularly in the case of self-build projects. Although this type of inspection represents a small percentage of the total cost of your project, it gives you peace of mind and protects your investment in the long term.
